UOG Student Investment Club attends Pacific Regional Investment Conference

The University of Guam Student Investment Club attended the 14th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference at the New World Makati City Hotel, in Manila, Philippines on November 13 and 14. The Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies (APAFS) fulfilled its educational objective this year by sponsoring 12 students and a student organization advisor from the University of Guam Student Investment Club to attend the conference.

This year’s conference featured forums of shared experiences and knowledge of financial experts across the Asia Pacific Region. The forum covered the most current regional issues and needs of investment managers, investment consultants, and other service providers in the Asia Pacific Region.

APAFS Renews its Annual Partnership with

UOG Student Investment Club, Oct. 2014

Every academic year, APAFS renews its annual partnership with the University of Guam Student Investment Club in efforts to promote student investing at the collegiate level. APAFS seeks to be a source of education not only for present-day fiduciaries, but for future generations of fiduciaries as well. This year, APAFS continues to fulfill its educational objective by sponsoring 12 students and 1 student organization advisor for the University of Guam Student Investment Club into the 14th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference occurring November 13th and 14th at the New World Makati City Hotel, in Manila, Philippines. The conference will include educational forums that cover the most current and fundamental understandings of Wall Street’s fiduciaries, and regional issues and needs of each. The conference will allow for students to be more informed about the current developments pertaining to the performances of investment managers, investment consultants, and other service providers. APAFS continues to provide educational support to the Asia Pacific Region’s future fiduciaries.

Joseph C. Santos to join APAFS Board of Governors, September 30, 2014

 

September 30, 2014 – Joseph C. Santos will join the APAFS Board of Governors as one of three members representing the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. Mr. Santos represents the Northern Marianas College Foundation, where he serves as President of the Board of Directors, succeeding Dr. Alan Stuart Markoff to the post.

Mr. Santos will join current sitting Board member Melchor Mendiola representing the Marianas Public Land Trust, and Skye Lynn Aldan, representing Commonwealth Ports Authority and serving as an alternate member of the Board of Governor
