FSM FIDUCIARIES EARN ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY DESIGNATION FROM

THE CENTER FOR FIDUCIARY STUDIES

Anna Mendiola, President, FSM Development Bank, Sihna Lawrence, CFO, FSM Development Bank, Alexander Narruhn, Administrator, FSM Social Security Administration and Zorro Donre, HR Manager, Pohnpei Ports Authority have been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ (AIF®)designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies™ (the Center), the standards-setting body for fi360.  The AIF®designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.  The designation is the culmination of a rigorous training program, which includes a comprehensive, closed-book final examination under the supervision of a proctor, and agreement to abide by the AIF® Code of Ethics.  On an ongoing basis, Designees are required to complete continuing education to maintain the AIF® Designation.

These successful candidates attended Asia based Fi360 training, which was sponsored by the Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies (APAFS) held in conjunction with APAFS's Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference held in Manila. There have now been three such trainings held, with the FSM boasting the greatest number of successful candidates in the region.

 

Fi360 will be holding the next Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) Training on November 5 and 6, 2013  in Manila, Philippines, following the second Asia based offering of theFiduciary Essentials (FE®) Certificate Course to be held on November 4thThe 13th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference will be held thereafter on November 7 and 8, 2013.Gerard Cruz, APAFS chairman says "we are excited about once again hosting these prestigious, and badly needed, fiduciary training courses once again. The response to both the AIF® and FE® courses has been truly overwhelming. Demand is already high for this year's trainings, and as we can only accommodate 35 participants in each course. Fi360, based near Pittsburgh, Pa., is the first full-time training and research facility for fiduciaries, and conducts training programs at universities throughout the United States and abroad. As part of fi360, the Center confers the AIF® Designation and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst™ (AIFA®) Designation, as well as the Fiduciary Essentials™ (FE®) Certificate Course. AIFA™ Designees are the only recognized professionals trained to perform fiduciary assessments, which measure how well investment professionals are fulfilling the fiduciary duties required of them by the applicable investment legislation, case law, and regulatory opinion letters.

July 15, 2013 - Mr. Carlos Domnick will join the APAFS Board of Governors as one of three Board members from the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Mr. Domnick represents the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration (MISSA) where he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Domnick will join as an Alternate to current Board members Mayor James Matayoshi, Rongelap Atoll Local Government and Mayor John Kaiko, Utrik Atoll Local Government

Kostka, Executive Director of the Micronesia Conservation Trust has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies™ (the Center), the standards-setting body for fi3601.  The AIF designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care.  The designation is the culmination of a rigorous training program, which includes a comprehensive, closed-book final examination, and agreement to abide by the AIF® Code of Ethics.  On an ongoing basis, Designees are required to complete continuing education to maintain the AIF® Designation.

Mr. Kostka attended the second ever Asia based Fi360 training, which was sponsored by the Asia Pacific Association for Fiduciary Studies (APAFS), and held at APAFS’s 12th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference in Manila in November 2012. The training was attended by twenty five individuals from throughout Micronesia and the Philippines.  Kostka becomes only the third FSM citizen to hold the AIF® designation.

Fi360 will be holding the next Accredited Investment Fiduciary® training immediately prior to the 13th Annual Pacific Region Investment Conference in Manila Philippines, being held on November 15 and 16, 2013.
